Biggar’s Hands Up For Trad cheers bank’s cheque

A Biggar-based charity is celebrating after being awarded more than £6,000 from the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Hands Up For Trad has been awarded a £6,275 RBS CommunityForce award, thanks to an enthusiastic voting campaign by local residents. The charity provides a week-long residential music course, held at Wiston Lodge each July, where young people, from the ages of 12 to 18, can immerse themselves in Scotland’s rich traditional music culture.
