THE latest member of the Lanark Writers group to be published can’t be accused of playing it safe with her first work.
Perhaps the two most difficult subjects to write about and put your true emotions and beliefs across to other folk not sharing your enthusiasm are those of mental health and faith.
However, Jean Boustead has pulled it off in Out of Clay, a truncation of the full Biblical quote “He brought me out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock”, which is, in a way, a summary of the plot of her book.
