Star Gazing at New Lanark Picture by Helen Barrington

There were plenty of people in New Lanark reaching for the stars last Saturday night – thanks to New Lanark Trust’s Stargazing Live event.

Held on the New Lanark roof garden, over 150 people braved the cold to hear talks from members of Clydesdale Astronomical Society and to try out telescopes in a bid to see the stars.

Unfortunately the cloudy skies meant stargazers were limited in what they could see but some people were lucky enough to see the Solar System’s largest planet Jupiter – 391 million miles away from Earth!
