U3A is booming in Lanark

IT seems barely a few months ago that the Gazette heralded the very first meeting of Lanark’s new branch of activities group U3A, now an organisation with one of the biggest memberships in town.
But hold on – it WAS barely a few months ago!
The amazingly fast flourishing of the U3A – which is short for University of the Third Age – proves that the few Lanarkians who felt there was a crying need for such a group in the Royal Burgh were totally justified.
