Biggar Theatre Workshop presents The King and I
NEW musical King & I has more than a little eastern promise if the Gazette's sneak peek is anything to go by.
While not boasting a cast of thousands, the show by Biggar Theatre Workshop has a cast so big that some parts are being played by two separate actors on differing evenings!
Excellent costumes, awash with colour, and amazing sets back up the excellent performances.
And with a fantastic musical score, the King & I is set to be another sure-fire success for the group.
It's certainly not an easy production to put together, with more than 100 children and adults involved both on stage and behind the scenes from the adult, youth and junior sections of the workshop.
However it's something that has come together in impressive fashion.
Rosemarie Wallace, who plays Lady Thaing, said: "The kids and the adults have been working together.
"It's been a mammoth operation but it will be worth it when everything gets underway.
"It's always a struggle to get everything together for showtime but it's been a real team effort."
Biggar Theatre Workshop presents the King & I at Biggar High School from March 10 to 14.
Tickets, priced 6 (4 children and concessions), are available from Brydens Newsagents.
