New primary schools in Kirkfieldbank and Carmichael
PUPILS and teachers alike are delighted with the facilities on offer at two newly opened schools, the £1.5 million Carmichael Primary and the £1.7 million Kirkfieldbank Primary.
Carmichael Primary head teacher Jennifer Brebner said: "The new school is absolutely amazing. In the words of the children, it is awesome!"
Kirkfieldbank Primary School head teacher Joy Deacon is also enthusiastic about her new school.
"All the staff, pupils and parents are delighted with the new school," Joy said. "It is a big improvement on the old one."
The official opening of the new Carmichael Primary on August 19 saw P7 pupil Abee Dillon cut a ribbon in front of excited pupils and teachers.
The official Kirkfieldbank Primary opening on August 19, which was attended by pupils and their parents, saw a variation on the traditional ribbon cutting.
Pupils untied a red ribbon with gold writing proclaiming Welcome to Kirkfieldbank Primary School, which had been tied from a drainpipe to the pupils' entrance.
