Princess Anne to visit Coalburn

COALBURN Silver Band members will celebrate the refurbishment of their band hall with a Royal visit.

HRH the Princess Royal will officially re-open the hall today (Monday), following an extensive refurbishment programme.

Princess Anne will also meet members of the band and be given two short

presentations about the band's history and the refurbishment project.

Band President Alan Court said the Princess Royal's visit would be the highlight of the band's 108 year history.

He added: "The band are absolutely thrilled and looking forward to the visit of HRH the Princess Royal.

"This is without doubt the greatest occasion in the band's history."

The Princess Royal will unveil a plaque to commemorate the Scottish champion band's big day.
