Lesmahagow Juniors produced their best performance of the season in beating Yoker 5-1 at Craighead Park last Saturday.

Yet the home side - managed by Robert Irving - fell behind after 21 minutes on Saturday when Cree scored from close range.

Yoker then won a penalty for a foul on Bisland, but Tobin produced a tremendous save from the same player.

It was 1-1 when Michael Brunton beat two defenders before unleashing an unstoppable long range shot into the top corner.

It was 2-1 for the hosts in the second half when a fine Craig Steele pass set up Steven Higgins who slotted the ball firmly under the keeper.

Higgins’ second came when he sent a 25-yard free-kick thundering into the bottom corner.

And his hat-trick duly arrived on 84 minutes when the outstanding McDougall played a long ball into the channel for Higgins to run onto. He held off his marker and fired in a great low shot.

’Gow’s fifth came in the 87th minute when Higgins passed a corner to Whitefield, who blasted the ball high into the Yoker net from 12 yards out to complete the scoring.
