Blair Weir takes part in Medtronic Diabetes Junior Cup

HE might only be six-years-old, but young football marvel Blair Weir has already taken part in a World Cup!

Blair, who plays for Kirkfield United, recently returned from a trip of a lifetime from Geneva having taken part in the Medtronic Diabetes Junior Cup and competing against teams from all over the world.

Blair was one of the stars for team GB's six to nine-years-old finishing the team's top scorer.

And he also got the chance to meet Britain's greatest Olympian (and fellow Diabetic) Sir Steve Redgrave.

He said: "I scored two goals and everyone else in the team only got one so I was really happy with that.

"The best bit about the trip was all the football we played.

"I was really pleased to meet Sir Steve. I didn't know he had won five gold medals."
