Duncan Sinclair appointed new Lanark United manager

LANARK United have moved quickly to appoint former player Duncan Sinclair as their new manager.

Former Kilsyth Rangers and Shotts Bon Accord gaffer Sinclair replaces John McVeigh, who resigned after last week's 6-1 thrashing by Petershill.

Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Auchinleck saw United slump to the bottom of the Super League Premier Division - and it doesn't get any easier as the team travel to junior giants Pollok on Saturday.

However, 'Sinky' believes his players can rise to the challenge.

He said: "It's extra special coming back to the club and I'm sure it will be a smooth transition.

"It's a honour and a privilege to come back here."
