Lanark v Kinnoull - Emirates Cup 4th Round Moor Park Lanark 21/1/12

A GALE force wind and driving rain blighted Lanark United’s performance levels last Saturday, when they were rotten in a 4-0 home defeat by Perthshire minnows Kinnoull in the Emirates Junior Cup fourth round.

Rovers manager Colin Slater said: “We were 12 to one outsiders for the match but put up a very good show and matched Irvine for most of the game.

“It was great that we got a crowd of over 300 with good local support.”

In another fourth round clash, Carluke Rovers narrowly lost 1-0 to Premier Superleague giants Irvine Meadow, a team three divisions above them.
